Melissa Pearce

Senior Associate

Melissa Pearce completed her studies at the University of Newcastle, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Psychology and English) in 2014, and with a Diploma of Legal Practice and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) in 2016. Melissa was admitted as a Solicitor in the NSW Supreme Court and the Australian High Court in early 2017. She has been practicing exclusively in Family Law since this time. Throughout her studies, Melissa targeted her practical legal training towards the area of Family Law, and her interest and studies in the subject date back to even her HSC studies.

Melissa’s interest in Family Law has been unwavering and her knowledge and experience in the area make her a valuable asset to the Family Law team. Melissa has helped numerous clients to successfully finalise their Family Law matters, often without the need for litigation. Melissa specialises in asset division post-separation and has advised on a number of complex property matters involving self-managed super funds, trusts, corporate entities, investments, bankruptcy, international jurisdictional disputes and third-party interests.

While Melissa has a substantial history of settling matters outside of Court in the most stress free and cost-effective way possible, Melissa is also able to advocate for her clients in Court proceedings, having had matters heard in the Newcastle, Parramatta and Sydney Family Law registries.

Melissa takes a compassionate approach to her clients and has been praised by her clients for her exceptional organisation skills, thorough analysis of documentary evidence and her outstanding attention to detail.

Melissa’s ambition is to one day gain her specialist accreditation in Family Law, but for now Melissa is also a devoted mother and is happily striking a comfortable balance between the career she loves and her own young family.
